Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The EQE SUV has Car-to-X Communication, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. Fuel Economy and Range

The EQE SUV has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Lyriq doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

Transmission

The EQE SUV AMG’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Lyriq doesn’t offer launch control.

The EQE SUV AMG offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Lyriq doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Tires and Wheels

The EQE SUV’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Lyriq’s standard 50 series tires. The AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Lyriq’s optional 40 series tires.

Suspension and Handling

The EQE SUV offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Lyriq’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The EQE SUV has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The EQE SUV’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The EQE SUV’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Lyriq doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

The AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ handles at .94 G’s, while the Lyriq Luxury AWD pulls only .79 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.3 seconds quicker than the Lyriq Luxury AWD (24.1 seconds @ .82 average G’s vs. 26.4 seconds @ .71 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the EQE SUV with rear wheel steering’s turning circle is 5.2 feet tighter than the Lyriq’s (34.5 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

For greater off-road capability the AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Lyriq (7.6 vs. 7 inches), allowing the EQE SUV to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Chassis

The EQE SUV is 5.2 inches shorter than the Lyriq, making the EQE SUV easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Passenger Space

The EQE SUV has .9 inches more front headroom, 1.7 inches more rear headroom and 1 inch more rear legroom than the Lyriq.

Towing

Maximum trailer towing in the Cadillac Lyriq is limited to 3500 pounds. The EQE SUV offers up to a 4000 lbs. towing capacity.

Servicing Ease

An ASSYST PLUS is standard on the EQE SUV to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for tire rotation and brake pad replacement based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Cadillac doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Lyriq.

Ergonomics

The EQE SUV offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

If the windows are left open on the EQE SUV the driver can close them all at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Lyriq can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the EQE SUV to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Lyriq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the EQE SUV has a standard rear wiper. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Lyriq’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The EQE SUV’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Recommendations

The Mercedes EQE SUV outsold the Cadillac Lyriq by 16% during 2023.
